Enrollment Guide

Dr. Recommendation

In California, to be considered a medical cannabis patient you must obtain a valid doctor’s recommendation. You will need to submit this recommendation, along with your California photo ID, in order to legally obtain medical cannabis.  Doctor recommendations are valid for 365 days.

Qualifying Conditions

The first step in becoming a patient is determining if you have an eligible medical condition. Proposition 215 lists qualifying conditions that include, but are not limited to; AIDS, Anorexia, Arthritis, Cancer, chronic pain, Epilepsy, Glaucoma, Migraines, Parkinson’s, Seizures, Spasticity, Cachexia, and any other condition for which medical cannabis may provide relief.

Choosing a Physician

In California, you are required to consult with your private physician or a qualified medical cannabis doctor to get a professional opinion as to whether cannabis can help alleviate your symptoms. Medical cannabis clinics do not typically accept medical insurance, but they are required to keep your medical records private, and do not share information with insurance providers unless you request it. To determine which doctor is the right choice for you, you can often browse their websites to review their medical credentials and rates.
